In Philadelphia, family-run Italian places are busiest on weekend evenings and around holidays, when reservations or call-ahead seating are worth it. BYOB is common at smaller restaurants in some states, with a modest corkage fee or none at all; the listing or a quick call will tell you. Wing-and-pizza shops across Pennsylvania do most of their business by delivery and price wings by the piece or in fixed counts, with sauce heat adjustable on request. Catering trays, party pizzas and sheet pies need a day's notice at most places, and more around big game days.

The business lists hours on 2 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 7:30 AM–3 PM. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Sarcone's Bakery at (215) 922-0445; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Its website is sarconesbakery.com, where you may find menus, price lists or booking options.

On Google it holds a rating of 4.6 out of 5 from 401 reviews, which is a strong result for an italian deli in Philadelphia and suggests consistent service.

Philadelphia is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Philadelphia follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

We happened to walk by Sarcone's Bakery and decided to stop in and try a slice of their tomato pie, something we'd never had before. We cut one slice into four pieces so everyone in our family could give it a try. It was served just below room temperature, which we learned is how it's traditionally enjoyed, and it was really good. The crust was soft, the tomato sauce had great flavor, and it made for a perfect afternoon snack. It's definitely more of a snack than a full meal, but if you're exploring Philadelphia and want to try a local favorite, it's worth stopping in. We're glad we did.

Cash only. Just left 10:20am. Best pepperoni pizza slice ever!! I went for the pepperoni bread and grabbed a slice of the pizza. The sauce is amazing!!! The ratio of sauce to bread to cheese was everything!!! Must try!! Haven't had the pepperoni bread in over 35yrs. I will add to this review after I try it. Not an eat-in restaurant, but well worth eating outside lol ***Pepperoni Bread is Amazing!!***

As I've stated, I'm huge on customer service. The staff here is cold and rude. Good thing I read reviews from the ppl of diverse backgrounds saying the same or I'd made assumptions because yikes! Pizza was actually delicious, but oddly they have no way of heating it up so it was ice cold. Very strange. Of course, no recommendations to go here.

I used to go to ninth Street every Saturday with my dad back in the late 70s and early 80s down to the Italian market. I really miss it down there so much and finally we got back again after about four years and I do not remember this bakery when I was little, but I will definitely remember it now they have the best cookies and the best pizza there that I’ve ever had in my entire life and growing up my parents own a pizzeria and I believe their pizzas even better than that. Their pepperoni rolls are outstanding if you want a good bakery in South Philly you definitely need to go here. Excellent -top-notch. And on top of all that very long family history that you don’t see too much anymore these days , great job!!!!

Classic italian cookies, treats, breads etc. Sarcones has the best tricolore or β€œrainbow”cookies i’ve ever had. The cannoli is also 10/10. Shell melts in your mouth like it was just baked 5 mins ago. Cream is freshly filled to order, cream is just sweet enough but still has that rich taste that cannolis are supposed to have. And not too many chocolate chips (my preference is none). Highly recommend trying something here. Atmosphere is old school. No modern bs no frills. Just classic. Service is fantastic.
